With the surge of the second wave for the COVID-19 pandemic, Centurion University of Technology & Management (CUTM) has revised the rules and maintenance norms following the new government protocols.

Bhubaneswar, Odisha – May 18, 2021 – Centurion University of Technology & Management (CUTM) India’s premier Skill University with campuses across Odisha and Andhra Pradesh has now brought in a new set of campus management guidelines following the protocols of the second wave of COVID-19 across India.

In anticipation of an eventual re-opening of the campuses for in-campus classes, Centurion University has designed and tested a unique Hybrid-Flexible (Hy-Flex) model that allows for simultaneous delivery of in-person and online classes in a safe and effective manner. Leveraging its pro-active investments in various digital technologies, the University has been functional in its delivery in an online mode for all semesters whilst keeping the campus fully ready for an opening as soon as it is safe and allowed by the Government/ regulators since over a year. The institution has also made course materials, lectures etc available online, and taken every attempt to ensure students have an enriching study experience.

It has now developed detailed procedures, guidelines and measures, in line with the latest government rules and recommendations, to ensure utmost safety for faculty, staff, students and other stakeholders.

These measures for entry in the campus will now include a complete ban on entry without masks, mandatory registration on the Arogya Setu app, frequent temperature checks and sanitization in line to RT-PCR reports of 72 hours prior, as recommended by the ICMR. Meeting facilities have been created right at the entrance gate, so as to prevent visitors from entering into the campuses without sufficient reasons to do so. In this way, entry to the campus buildings is being avoided as much as possible.

All visitors are registered and tracked via an app, thus ensuring minimal direct contact in a safe manner.

For students, faculty and staff, the institution is sparing no effort to ensure safety from the second wave of the pandemic. CUTM has set up hands-free sanitizing and washing facilities to ensure utmost hygiene. The hostels and classrooms have been re-configured to ensure safety in living as well as proper social distancing. Those who need to move out of the campus due to unavoidable circumstances are monitored for regular temperature checks and other signs and symptoms.

Security personnel are trained to make sure that they are able to monitor all the important parameters for safety, such as checking the masks and temperature of every visitor. CUTM is also establishing a stronger connection with all the local authorities and established a COVID helpline, so as to make sure that any instance of COVID-19 infection is reported quickly, sufficient treatment reaches the concerned person on time, and any and all support is provided to link the persons to required resources.
