“Family Ties, Missing Organs, and Champagne: The Anna Romano Mystery Series Book 3 is a cozy murder mystery novel written by Cheryl Denise Bannerman. Anna Romano was just getting into enjoying life before everything went pear-shaped. Her latest mystery novel was flying off the shelves of bookstores all over the country, and real-life mysteries had not mysteriously popped up in front of her lately. Anna really didn’t need to find more dead bodies. She was perfectly content with the domestic bliss she was experiencing with her dishy police detective boyfriend and her seven cats. But bliss is usually broken by something — in her and her boyfriend, John Solace’s case, it was the matter of his brother, Scott, recently out of jail and not doing all that well. When his last fight with his girlfriend, Tess, ended up in near violence and with him being out on the streets, John and Scott’s parents urgently pleaded with John to let Scott room with him and Anna, and help him get back on his feet again. Before they knew it, Anna and John were welcoming Scott into their home. What could go wrong with that? Plenty, it seemed.

“Cheryl Denise Bannerman’s Family Ties, Missing Organs, and Champagne is a sprightly and entertaining tale about a mystery writer who seems to have murder mysteries plop into her lap at the least provocation. While it’s the third book in her Anna Romano Mystery Series, the author includes enough background story to allow this to be enjoyed as a standalone novel. I enjoyed getting to know Anna, John, and their feline family, and had a grand time following as Anna lives through yet another real-life, suspenseful situation. Bannerman’s sleuth is also an accomplished cook, whose recipes I was thrilled to discover at the back of the book. They are well-presented, and the instructions seem easy to follow. Bannerman’s characters are authentic and credible, and her tidy and ingenious plot makes this a grand cozy mystery. Family Ties, Missing Organs, and Champagne is highly recommended.”
