Leading the way is Dr. David Farnen and the team at Advanced Foot & Ankle Care Centers.

Nashville, TN – Dr. David Farnen is pleased to announce there is a new type of podiatrist in town – the ankle experts in medicine and surgery at Advanced Foot & Ankle Care Centers.

Based in Nashville, Tennessee, Advanced Foot & Ankle Care Centers (AFACC) is the largest and most diverse foot and ankle podiatry group in the area.  The center focuses on the evaluation and management of all foot and ankle related injuries and deformities.

“At AFACC, our entire team is knowledgeable in all non-surgical and surgical management of all soft tissue, tendon, and bone problems associated with the foot and ankle,” says AFACC founder, Dr. David Farnen, DPM.  “Oftentimes, it can be difficult for family doctors to fully assess a patient’s foot and ankle problems, which is why our services are so important.”

According to Dr. Farnen, foot and ankle problems and injuries happen every day, and can cause tremendous pain and limited mobility.  As such, it is imperative to receive early attention to these injuries or any other foot problem in order to properly recover.

To assist patients in regaining mobility and reducing pain, the podiatrists and surgeons at AFACC can create custom treatment plans to help patients recover and avoid further damage.  Some common foot and ankle problems and injuries include:

  • Broken bones
  • Dislocations
  • Sprains
  • Contusions
  • Infections
  • Arthritis
  • Bunions
  • Hammer toes
  • Diabetes related issues

As a Type 1 diabetic himself, Dr. Farnen says that he completely empathizes with his diabetic patients:

“While I am an expert in treating most foot and ankle problems, my specialty is in the diabetic foot. This is my absolute passion, and I love to educate the community about the importance of foot health and diabetes. I am also an expert wound care provider and am currently training to become certified in minimally invasive elective foot surgery for bunions, arthritis, and hammer toes.”
