Late Night Shower Gives Relief to Delhiites; Waterlogging Makes Traffic Crawl

rain2New Delhi, Wednesday, July 2 – The weather in the national capital has been partly cloudy from past few days that resulted in humidity to some extent. However, late night rainfall today brought huge relief for the Delhi residents, who have been looking forward to adequate shower to get rid of sticky summer.

Waking up to a cloudy morning yesterday, people saw huge possibility of rain during the day or late hours. However, the forecast about the monsoon to hit the city by July 7 made them a bit uncertain. The noontime drizzle that lasted for around half an hour on Wednesday gave a full stop to such doubts. If truth be told, Delhi residents may get to see rainfall till Saturday. By this time, humidity is expected to stay in the range of 36 percent to 51 percent and wind is likely to blow with the speed of 13 kilometer per hour and 18 kilometer per hour. The chances of heavy downpour on Wednesday and Thursday are also on the cards.

Most of the time, rainfall in the city comes with a lot of problems for the commuters, who aren’t left with any option other than get stranded helplessly in the busy streets of Delhi. Similar picture was apparent early Wednesday morning too when several office goers and school kids reached a bit late to their workplace and schools, respectively, after being stuck in the traffic.

Waterlogging has been one of the common issues people face during the monsoon. Story doesn’t seem to be anymore different this time as well since spells of rain gave rise to traffic jams and generated a bit chaos on the roads despite bringing down the temperature. Gridlock in a number of Delhi regions created huge trouble for the locals too.
