cwgGlasgow, Wednesday, July 30 – Performances of Indian players at the Commonwealth Games are making the entire country proud. It is just because of the players’ unbelievable shows in air rifle shooting, pistol shooting, weightlifting, wrestling and judo that made India win 10 gold, 16 silver and 11 bronze medals in 2014 CWG Glasgow.

However, it has slipped at no. 6 spot from 5 as New Zealand has bagged one gold medal more than India at the present. But slight change in the medal tally may be visible prior to the closing ceremony of sports carnival that will be observed on August 3. Australia is yet leading the table with total of 101 medals. England maintained its second place with 91 medals. Canada surpassed Scotland for third position with 39 medals.

19 events have been lined up for Wednesday. India can hope for some more victories in the contests that are supposed to take place today. The 31-year-old Sushil Kumar grabbed eyeballs for his stupendous show against Qamar Abbas of Pakistan that made the two-time Olympic medalist win the gold medal.
