17:26 2014

rup2New Delhi, Tuesday, April 15 – The currency of India was changing hands being feeble at 60.27 in opposition to the American unit just a tad prior to the noontime trading.

As a result of unsatisfactory Index of Industrial Production (IIP) figures and an even opening in the local stock market, it traded being fragile by 12 paise at 60.29 each dollar in opposition to the earlier finish of 60.17 a dollar. In accordance with more than a few traders, profits of the greenback in opposition to additional currencies in a foreign country and augmented requirement for the US currency from importers too weighed on the Indian rupee.

On April 11, it had shed 10 paise to end at 60.17 in opposition to the dollar. By reason of bad performance of manufacturing segment, in particular capital goods, industrial production figures that were unleashed post market hours on April 11 had lost its balance another time into the negative region and thinned by 1.9 % two months ago.

The benchmark BSE 30 and the Nifty 50 and money markets were shut on Monday on the account of 123rd birth anniversary of Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar.
