dhoni newEngland, Wednesday, July 16 – India are on a long tour to England in order to play remaining Test matches of the 5-match series, One-Day international and Twenty20 matches. Trent Bridge Test ended in a draw and fell flat, however, it ensured that the new brigade of both the countries are heading towards the right direction and will take future of cricket to the next level of brilliance.

For India, the first Test match at Nottingham came as a bit of surprise as England took a minor lead in the first innings thanks to amazing display by Joseph Edward Root and James Anderson. Beside their outstanding shows, bowlers of the hosting country made India’s top and middle order succumb as soon as possible. It was debutant Stuart Binny’s knock of 78 runs that made India gain foothold and do not repeat poor performance as that of 2011 when England imposed a humiliating defeat against the guest team.

Since both England and India are undergoing huge transformation, one shouldn’t get astonished to see mind-boggling innings from the youngsters. Batting-line of Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s team is considered the strongest but a lot of expectations can ruin the things without any prior hint. If one wants to see players’ natural game then it is important to let them grow of their own and adjust with changing conditions of the place. For a better batsmen and bowler, it is vital to read the mood of pitch and this is only possible when quality time is devoted to practice hard in the nets.

It would be interesting to watch whether Ravichandran Ashwin is called to bowl and bat or asked to sit in the dressing room and watch the game. The 27-year-old all-rounder has played impressively for more than a few occasions and imparted crucial role in the team’s success. In the face of a draw in the lately played Test match, it is good to see Dhoni taking risk and giving chances to some other players, enabling them to perform at their best by making optimum use of the given opportunity. Murali Vijay was undoubtedly inspiring with a ton and half-century in the first and second innings, respectively. To fix his position in the team for a longtime, the Chennai boy will have to carry on same sort of skills in the upcoming matches as well.

As far as focus is paid over the pitch, the wicket at Lord’s may be a bit green in spite of a shave off just prior to the match. Indian cricketers are probable to feel the taste of actual English conditions. Those who will survive and face the sharp bowling by the England’s bowlers are surely gonna get some amazing opportunities in the future series, however, problem would be for the cricketers who fail to follow their game plan and lose their wickets early or give opponents the chance to put humongous score on the board. In the nutshell, the upcoming Test match – which is to start on Thursday, July 17, is going to give enormous chances to the players to shine and stand out. It is on them how they perform to pocket victory. When such an interesting contest is on the cards, this is almost impossible for the audience to stay engaged in some other work.
